Charitable Trust Funds New Specialist Seating at Community Inpatient Unit

With the increase in complexity of patients being admitted to the Community Inpatient Unit (CIU), it is essential that they are seated appropriately both for comfort and to facilitate their rehabilitation.

This high spec Rise and Recline chair features: removable arm rests, adjustment to seat width and depth, back rest height and vertical rise, so it enables the therapy team to accommodate all patient presentations. All fastenings are magnetic to optimise infection control compliance. It is also powered by a battery pack which means no more damage to power cables.

Senior Physiotherapist and Therapy Team Lead at CIU, Helen McBride, said:

"We are enormously grateful to the CPG Charitable Trust for funding this high-spec patient chair which is an invaluable addition to our resources at CIU. It will further enable us to seat our complex patients in comfort and support their therapeutic rehabilitation."
